Loadout ideas
These can be interesting as a starting point for further experimentation.
Effective PvE loadout for solo play: 950 ~ 1100 hunt dollars (click to equip)
This versatile loadout can be used for fast compounds cleanup. To do that, this loadout relies on Nagant pistol with Poison Ammo. It allows for quick and relatively silent clean up of AI enemies. The downside can be fast depletion of Poison Ammo. That's why we are carrying an Ammo Box. Probably it will not be enough, and you should plan for visiting resupply points.
- Use Mako's Claw attachment to take care of grunts.
- Levering for Mako can potentially make up for a lack of a shotgun.
- Use Nagant with Poison Ammo, to quickly dispose of Meatheads, Armoreds, and Hellhounds. Hives require a headshot, otherwise you'll waste a lot of ammo on them.
- Nagant fire rate is quite slow, fanning will help in sticky close-range situations.
- For more fun, take Explosive Ammo for Mako, you'll be able to kill more grunts at a time, or annoy other Hunters hiding in the bushes. Add Bulwark trait to minimize splash damage at close range.
- Use Derringer on Immolators, finishing off Meatheads, bosses, quickly opening blocked doors, or close range hunter takedowns.
- If you make noise, use decoys to redirect attention.
- Dynamite can be used for Meatheads, a boss, or other hunters.
Low budget PvE loadout for solo play: 280 ~ 300 hunt dollars
This is a variant of above loadout for AI clean up, but focused on making it as cheap as possible. This time we are switching Nagant for a Winfield rifle with suppressor. Add Poison Ammo to it, to quickly dispatch most of AI enemies. This will be our workhorse for most encounters. Next, we are changing Mako for a Romero Shorty for close range fights. Again, we will need an Ammo Box, and some good planning to visit resupply points.
- Use Dusters to take care of Grunts and Immolators, for everything else use Winfield.
- Dynamite can be used to fight Meatheads, a boss, or other hunters.
